Film Slitting Blade

American Cutting Edge has the largest inventory in the USA for slitter blades.  We stock all types of slotted blades, injector blades, and film slitting blades.  The converting and slitting industry is one of our most important businesses, so we offer all these blades in a wide range of thicknesses, edge geometries, materials, and coatings.  Because of this large stock, we can always ship these items the same day they are ordered.

Razor slitting is often used when narrow strips are required or when the application has a need for there to be only a small bit of material displacement as the cut product passes by the blade.  We supply a full range of circular slitting blades.  Regardless of the slitting application, we can take care of the customer!

Sometimes we need to modify the edge geometry to make the blade cut best for your particular application.  We have the expertise to make blades with a single bevel, a double bevel or even a compound double bevel.  Our focus is to make consistent quality blades where the 10,000th piece is as good as the first piece.

We offer these blades not only in carbon and stainless steel but also solid tungsten carbide.  Blades made of tungsten carbide will last much, much longer but are more expensive and less resistant to breakage.  If you have a controlled application where blade breakage rarely occurs and not shutting down your machine to replace blades is a cost savings to you, this material is an excellent choice.  We introduced the first successful solid tungsten carbide over 35 years ago, so we know a thing or two about their usage; just ask!

We also stock many coated blades, using TIN, TIC, and Boron Carbide (ceramic coating).  TIN is much less costly but offers a little longer life.  While TIC lasts much longer, the heat required to apply it makes it not as good for thinner blades.  Often Boron Carbide is the best choice, as it offers a very long life and will not warp during coating.  All these coatings work best in different applications. Just ask your American Cutting Edge salesperson for which blade would work best for you.
